10 Things I Like About Boston

10 Things I Like About Boston:

  1. I can walk to almost anywhere.
  2. Public transportation, though not great, basically allows me to live without a car.
  3. The neat little basement restaurants on Newbury Street.
  4. The independently owned music shops around town.
  5. The various squares that have every place you need to go to at any time.
  6. The brightness of lights at night to remind me that I'm not alone.
  7. The quiet the city can have sometimes despite being a big city.
  8. Boston Common and all other open areas that the city offers in which I could go with peeps to play frisbee and such.
  9. News broadcasts in places I recognize from actually walking there.
  10. Fenway Park is my backyard (sort of).

There are many complaints, too, but the items on this list are what make me happy to be in Boston and not in Amherst or Worcester.

I Wonder

I wonder

I wonder what my life will
be like in another 15 years
I know I will no longer have many
of my childhood fears
Like taking tests and getting lost in the
park
Forgetting homework and being afraid of
the dark
Missing the schoolbus and ferocious
dogs that bark
I know my life will be different
15 years from now
I only wish I knew it will be
different how.

This poem was written on May 12, 1993. It was written by me.

Tears for Fears

This is a terrific song that I am really into right now from the oft-underrated 1980s band:

I totally dig the guys dancing in the tuxedos.
