Two Million Strong for Net Neutrality

The fight for Net Neutrality has reached a crucial moment. The FCC Chairman just called for new Net Neutrality rules, and he is being supported by President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and numerous congressional leaders. Now we need a powerful, public show of support. More than 1.6 million people have already called for Congress and the FCC to support Net Neutrality. If we can reach 2 million, we'll send a resounding message that Washington will not be able to ignore. Petition to the EPA to protect our water from nitrogen & phosphorus pollution

Dangerous pollutants are threatening the health of our waters. Nitrogen and phosphorus pollution have become so bad that it threatens the survival of our inland and coastal waters.

Sign the petition to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and ask that they set nitrogen and phosphorus pollution standards that protect the waters of the entire Mississippi River Basin and the Gulf of Mexico.

These standards will set the stage for addressing this problem throughout the entire United States.

Hold Big Polluters Accountable

Right now, only a handful of sources, including coal power plants, are responsible for more than half of all US global warming emissions. I just sent a comment to the public register supporting the EPA's Big Polluters rule, which is a major step toward holding these facilities accountable.

Speak Out for Beleaguered Belugas

As the population of Alaska's Cook Inlet beluga whales plummeted from over 1,200 in 1979 to only 326 in 2009, these iconic whales were finally listed as endangered in 2008.

Now, a new proposal announced by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) aims to protect more than 3,000 square miles of their aquatic home--and would give these struggling marine mammals the protections they need to survive.

I just took action online to tell the federal officials to save Alaska's iconic Cook Inlet belugas and you can too--just follow this link:

Together, we can help save these magnificent animals.

Thanks.

Help Save Wildlife Around the Globe

Send a message asking your representative to cosponsor the Global Conservation Act.

Scientists estimate that one-half to two-thirds of Earth’s species could be driven to the brink of extinction by the end of this century. The Global Conservation Act would create an international conservation strategy for the U.S. government and provide the resources needed to turn the tide on the growing biodiversity crisis.

Help Save Kenya’s Lions from a Deadly U.S. Neurotoxin

Right now, a poison made by an American company--a product that the Environmental Protection Agency says is too toxic for use in the United States--is driving some of the last wild lions of the African plains to extinction.

Just a handful of carbofuran can kill an entire pride of lions. Sadly, this awful poison is still sold in stores (and widely used) across Kenya and East Africa.

Urge the Obama Administration to Stop Tar Sands Pipelines

I just took action to urge the Obama Administration to stop the United States from allowing a big pipeline to come in from Canada, bringing the world's dirtiest energy source into our country. Check it out here.
